We help our players recognize their personal strengths, challenges, and opportunities. By focusing on the impacts of our behavior and choices. we teach them to operate with integrity on and off the court.

We value the diverse experiences of our SBU family. Using basketball as a tool, we shape and strengthen culturally-inclusive programming that honors both what makes us different, and a game that unites us.
COMPETITION

We prepare our players for life’s wins & losses by asking them to bring their best athletic ability, mental focus, and attitude to the court. This fosters a healthy competitive outlook and deep respect for the game.

RULES OF THE GAME

SBU is geared towards smaller players, concentrating on ball handling and fundamentals. We maintain height limits of 4'11" for rookies and 5'1" for varsity players. Rims are set at 8'6", allowing our players to learn proper shooting techniques. We balance SKILL-BUILDING & COMPETITION BY using a quarter team approach where all players get time in the first half, while the second half rotation is at the coach’s discretion. As a combined result, the pace and physicality of SBU is second to none.

FOUNDED FOR THE FUTURE.

Proposal to create a new program dedicated to height limit youth basketball is developed and becomes foundation for what will become Small Ball United.
Small Ball United officially launches with reveal of logo, mission and vision.
Small Ball United secured participation from franchises in Chicago, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands, ensuring it's first International Tournament.
SBU secures corporate sponsorships for the first time from Mann & Associates, ENT Partners, Chicago and Red Rock, LLC, marking the launch of our fundraising efforts.
SBU hosts it's inaugural International Tournament at Rocky Top Sports Complex in Gatlinburg, TN hosting 25 teams from five different regions. Robert Taylor Panthers win their first championship.
